        Lijiang Teachers College was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Currently there are   5580 full-time students on campus. Among the faculty and staff, 70 are professors or associate professors.

        There are ten departments on campus, such as Chinese, English, Tourism, Economy and Life Science. More   than thirty majors, both teaching majors and non-teaching are provided to students. These include Chinese   Education and English Education, Tour Guide and Accounting. Additionally, the Tour Guide Major has been   approved as the Model Major at the provincial level. Both the English Education and Chinese Education Major   were approved as the Key Majors at the provincial level; “A live Demonstration of Tour Guide . Course” was   approved as the Excellent Course at the provincial level

        After 20 years’ development, the college has formed guiding principles of scientific development, following the   development of higher education, and it has shown initiative by adapting to the demands of local economic and   social development. The college has provided services for compulsory education, training talented young people,   setting up the base in Lijiang and also expanding the service to other parts of Yunnan. The basic development   principle for the college is to train qualified college students. The college is striving to become one that has its own   outstanding specialties and advantages and serves the needs of its community.

         Certificate: Qualified graduates attain the           graduate certificate of   LTC approved by the                 State  Government  Institution  Academics.

         Teaching Major

          Biology Education: Its aim is to produce           teachers and professionals with solid academic knowledge and a practical ability to meet the           changing demands of local economic construction.

         Chemistry Education: Its aim is to produce qualified students who are able to teach chemistry           in  middle school or  to work in Chemistry or Biology labs.

         Chinese Education (Key Major at provincial level): It aims to equip students to become           professionals  in  Chinese Literature and Chinese Education who can adapt to the needs of           imes. 

         Physic Education: It aims to equip students to become professionals in PE education and to          grasp the  basic theory,   knowledge and teaching skills of this field.

         Music Education: It aims to produce          knowledgeable  and  capable  elementary and          middle school music   teachers who  are  able to give          a  performance and   compose musical  works.

         Art Education: It aims to equip students to          become;professionals in   primary and middle schools          education or in the fields of art and   design. Their          training  will  allow them to serve society as well as          adapt to its changing  needs.

         Preschool Education: It aims to produce          enthusiastic, compassionate preschool teachers and          executives who  have  also  fully mastered the basic theory and skills of  their field.   

         Math Education: It aims to produce professionals with   acomprehensive background in          mathematical  knowledge as well as a firm grasp of teaching skills and   methods.

         Physics Education: It aims to produce          professionals  with a comprehensive background in          Physics as well as a firm grasp  of  teaching   skills          and methods.

         Elementary Education (Comprehensive Science):          It  aims to  produce   professionals in primary and          middle   schools with a  background in basic   math          knowledge   and skills and an  understanding   of          teaching practices.

         Computer Science Education: It aims to produce          professionals with a comprehensive knowledge of   modern  computer technology and   its          uses. This training may be used to obtain jobs in Computer Science education as well as other          computer- related fields.

          English Education (Key Major at provincial level): It aims to   equip students with a solid           foundation in  the English language. Students will develop strong skills in listening,   speaking,           reading, writing, and  translating. By graduation, they will be prepared to take on a variety of           English-  related jobs.

          Politics Education: It aims to produce professionals in primary and middle schools with a           background   in standard political ideology who are equipped to work in government-related           jobs.

          History education: It aims to produce professionals in primary and middle schools with a solid           foundation in    history, history theory, and culture-related fields. They will also receive training in           educational theory and practice.

          Elementary Education (Comprehensive Art): It aims to produce highly capable professionals           in  elementary education and management who have mastered the basic knowledge and skills of           their  field and are able to adapt   to society’s changing conditions.

              None-teaching majors

          Tourism Management: It aims to train students to work in travel agencies and companies,          tourist spots,  hotels, and other tourism-related fields. Students will have a foundation in         marketing, reception, service,  and  management. They will also develop their awareness and         understanding of  other cultures.

          Tour Guide (Model Major at the provincial level): Its aim is to produce tour guides with rich           knowledge  of  their areas, skillful techniques, and strong leadership abilities. Students will be          equipped to work as  local tour   guides, general tour guides, or tour group leaders. 

          Hotel Management: Its aim is to produce professionals who are able to adapt to local           economic and  social  demands and can work in hotel management, marketing, tourist reception,           and other services.

          Secretary: Its aim is to produce professionals with a mastery of the theory and practice of           public  relations work. Students will also develop skills in secretarial work.         

          Computer Information Management: Its aim is to produce professionals with the ability to           design,build,research and maintain information systems.

           Applied Computer Technology: Its aim is to produce            professionals  who  are capable of performing media            research, computer installation and  maintenance.

           Tourism English: It's aim is to produce professionals who             are  able  to work  in tourism management as English or             Chinese tour guides.

          Accountant: It's aim is to produce professionals who are prepared to work in government           institutions, economic organizations.Students will receive  training in assessing,analyzing,and           managing accounts.

           Marketing: It's aim is to produce highly-trained professionals with comprehensive marketing            skills, rich  cultural knowledge, and practical ability. They will be able to work in the fields of            marketing research,   marketing   planning and marketing management.

           Gadening Technology: It's aim is to produce professional with training in biological and            agricultural   theory and technologies. They will be able to work in agricultural management            fields,  performing work  that includes  designing, publicizing, developing, and operation.

           Dancing (Five-year System): It's aim is to produce professionals with a background in dancing            theory as  well as an understanding of dancing skills. Students will strengthen their dancing and            creative  abilities, gain  a  deeper understanding of literature and art, and become more            cultivated  individuals.

          Art Design: It's aim is to produce professionals with creative ability in modern art design.           Students  will  master  systematic artistic methodologies and technologies.
